The Pokemon company today released a new video revealing the next Mega Evolution we’ll find in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire: Mega Rayquaza.

Rayquaza will learn a new move called Dragon Ascent and when it Mega Evolves it will gain the ability Delta Stream.

According to the video description, Mega Rayquaza will Mega Evolve in a different method than other Mega Pokemon:

A third Legendary Pokémon will appear on your Hoenn adventure! Rayquaza is said to be somehow connected with the mysteries of Mega Evolution. Now its Mega-Evolved appearance has been revealed! The Legendary Pokémon Rayquaza is said to achieve Mega Evolution in a remarkable way—unlike that of other Pokémon—due to its unique biology. What is this unique method? And what is the mystery of Mega Evolution? All will become clear in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire!

Dragon Ascent

The Dragon Ascent move, which Rayquaza alone can use, is a powerful one. It boasts one of the greatest power ratings of all Flying-type moves, putting it at the top of its class. Not only will you be surprised by its overwhelming power—you’ll be mesmerized by its majestic appearance! After soaring up toward the heavens in a great burst of speed, it crashes down in attack, dealing massive damage.

Delta Stream

In battle, Mega Rayquaza’s skills are sure to wreak havoc on an opponent’s strategy with its Delta Stream Ability. Powerful moves like Rain Dance, Sunny Day, Sandstorm, and Hail will fail in the face of strong winds whipped up by Mega Rayquaza, whilst Abilities like Drizzle, Drought, Sand Stream, and Snow Warning will not even activate. In addition, moves of a type to which Flying-type Pokémon are usually susceptible will only deal normal damage.

Check out the video of Mega Raquaza in action below:

Remember last year when a mysterious 3 second clip appeared at the end of a video shown at the Pokemon Game Show last August? The Pokemon Company released information about it today.

The new game is called “Pokkén Tournament” and is an arcade game being developed by Namco Bandai’s Tekken Team. “Whether you are a causal player, a regular player or a hardcore player, anyone who likes Pokemon can have fun,” said Namco’s Katsuhiro Harada. He also said that Pokkén Tournament is actually “closer to an action game.” He added that Namco used its “know how” to develop the game.

From what we’ve seen so far, it looks like the game might only feature Fighting type Pokemon. Last year’s clip showed off Blaziken and Lucario and now this time, the below video shows off Lucario and Machamp. You may also see that Mega Lucario makes a quick cameo. Does this mean Machamp might be getting a Mega Evolution to withstand a beating from Mega Lucario and Mega Blaziken?

I guess we’ll see when the game gets closer to its release date next Summer in Japan.
